Slow Food Devon is a county-wide group of enthusiasts who live or work in Devon and who are passionate about real food and drink. What we are not is an exclusive fine dining club, although meeting to eat is one of our main social activities.
The Slow Food convivium, as local groups are known, formed in Devon in 2003 and has gradually increased in numbers. We hold events across the county, although there is also a Plymouth City convivium, and there are similar groups in Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset.
Among our activities are farm visits, fungi forays, tastings, demonstrations and talks. Slow Food Devon is also about celebrating and safeguarding some of Devon’s unique and traditional products, such as the Dittisham Ploughman Plum, the Clovelly Herring or Red Ruby beef.
